What Is a Euro-Class?

Since 2010 SCS-INTA has housed two Euro-classes for students aged 15 to 17 years old. The aim of the Euro-classes is to give Danish students the opportunity to experience an international and bi-lingual school environment and to contribute to the internationalization of the Danish school system.

The focus of the Euro-classes is:

  • To develop high academic standards which prepare the students for further education
  • To improve the students’ language skills
  • To further  knowledge about Europe and the European Union
  • To encourage the students to develop an international outlook of the world

 

What Do the Euro-Classes Offer?

 The Euro-classes offer the students a unique opportunity to improve their academic standards in core subjects such as mathematics, Danish and science and to enhance their language skills by being immersed in a bi-lingual environment.

The students have:

  • More than 30 lessons a week
  • A choice of French, German or Spanish as a third language
  • Mathematics taught in groups according to the students’ abilities
  • A bilingual environment and experienced bi-lingual teachers
  • Extensive teambuilding activities  at the beginning of the year
  • A two-week trip to England as part of the program
  • An optional trip to Hamburg, Germany
  • A choice between Danish FS10 and IGSCE exams in a range of subjects

Practical Information

 Location

The Euro-classes are located at Vesterbro 14 with the senior international department

School Day

For students in these classes, start and finish times each day can vary depending on the availability of function rooms. The normal day ranges between 8.00 and 15.15.

Food

The students either bring their own food, order sandwiches for delivery at the school, or buy food during their lunch break.

Books and Resources

The school provides textbooks and exercise books. Students need to bring all writing materials and mathematics equipment including calculators.
