Sports initiative at Skipper Clement International!
The Inta department is pleased to announce a new inter-schools sports initiative for 2013-14 onwards.
As part of a new, competition based, co-operation between the Danish International schools' network (DISN), Sports teachers from several International schools around Denmark are arranging events for our students to test their abilities and socialize with other like-minded kids from around the country.
The first event has taken place in the form of an Inter-school ‘Cross country’ event, in Roskilde (close to Copenhagen).
24 enthusiastic and motivated students from Skipper Clement, covering a wide range of ages, competed with distinction at this first event. Adrenalin levels were high on race day and the athletes proved that good training and attitude can lead to good results!
All the athletes deserve a ‘pat on their back’ for their efforts, but special mention must be given to Niklas G. Madsen. He performed with distinction and secured a second place medal in the Under 15 boys' category.
As an extra-curricular activity, this event was only made possible due to the valuable back up provided by a group of motivated ‘Skipper parents’, a special thank you to you all. The help with transport and on the day itself was invaluable.
Planning is already underway for an inter-school athletics meet in Odense in the spring. More information will follow closer to the event.
Skipper Clement International looks forward to hosting events in the future and in being a part of this growing initiative.
I hope you enjoy some of the photos from the day.
